A personal request for a project to publicly fund community lead research

I live with a debilitating illness called fibromyalgia. It was officially given this diagnosis in the '90s, although it’s been known of for a long time. Yet there has been little interest or money put into researching fibromyalgia, and now I’m seeing a lot of effort going into researching Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (YUPPIE flu in the '80s), which is similar to fibromyalgia, but it’s also related to Long COVID, hence the research boom into it. There are also a lot of quacks profiting from the fibro community as we all are searching for any possible relief from our suffering.

Florence Nightingale changed the public policy of London and the modern world in regard to sanitation, leading to the London clean water, and sewage systems being created. She did this all from her bed. Recent historical medical research into her diaries and personal correspondence have revealed that she most likely suffered from fibromyalgia.

This is what I hope a team can help me with; we in the fibro community could pool our financial resources to fund research into our illness to find something approaching a normal life. Fibro destroys families as partners can’t cope with the burden, which affects our children and their well-being.

For the greater global community, this project should provide the same. This could also lead to a method for all types of projects to be funded (go fund me). Obviously, it should be open sourced.

I’m currently developing my own local team with the excitement around this BTC cycle’s hype. I have a few core individuals studying electronic, coding and the like, at tertiary level education, but it will take time as they are complete blockchain novices. From this start, I’m planning on turning my local area into a blockchain innovation hub to hopefully deal with some of the issues we are dealing with in Australia. I believe this project is important enough that I’m giving it to the community that I love. Go Cardano.
