Why would you do that? Never enter the seed phrase of a hardware wallet anywhere else than on the hardware! That’s there only reason for existing.
Anyway, for Cardano the wallets that Ledger derives from a seed phrase are completely different than the wallets that are derived in software. So, if the receive address you used in Binance is somehow from the Ledger (I couldn’t quite get that from your description), then it is no wonder that it came up empty when trying it in software.
You have to connect your Ledger to one of the wallet apps. Doesn’t matter which. Most can do it – Eternl, Typhon, Lace, …
No, that’s not possible. From the point of view of the blockchain, they look completely identical.
If my ada had appered in the typhon wallet i would have sent them out immediately leaving the wallets all drained and that seed phrase void.
I will reset the ledger back and then connect it to the wallet app and see if that works
No an ada wallet didn’t even show up in trust wallet
I will restore the ledge and connect it to a ada wallet app and see if they appear that way
Ah, now it makes sense.
- You had a Ledger set to a (presumably 12 word) seed phrase and wanted to reset it.
- You reset the Ledger to a new seed phrase.
- For all other currencies, it worked to just restore the seed phrase in Trust Wallet and send from there to the new Ledger wallet.
For Cardano, that didn’t work because Ledger derives differently than software wallet apps (including Trust).
- So, you just tried Typhon, but that does the same as Trust, so also no luck there.
Yep, then restore your Ledger with the old seed phrase, connect it to any Cardano wallet app and send to the new. Then, restore it back to the new one.
You have to activate it, but Trust Wallet pretty surely supports Cardano. Wouldn’t have helped in this case, anyway, though.
Yes that’s it, all other coins worked fine but i hadnt realised cardano was different like that.
I’ll restore the old ledger and connect to a wallet and see if it works
It has worked and i can now access the ada.
Thanks
