Catalyst Weekly #83 - Town Hall #132, Voter & Reviewer Registration

Hello there, beautiful soul!

Hope this message finds you well.

It couldn’t be more official, we’re now well into the Fund10 and halfway through the submission period for proposals. I would like to take the moment and appreciate everyone’s efforts already. Whether it is via sharing their ideas and draft proposal, or commenting and providing a constructive feedback loop to them.

Part of that feedback loop will come in the form of Community Review. This is scheduled to commence after proposals have been finalized over the next couple of weeks. And you can partake in this and earn rewards for helping navigate the landscape of proposals.

Furthermore, three teams highlighted their work as part of the 500th funded projects completions celebrations. The town hall was opened with the help of Perun Channels in Cardano’s Scalability Challenge. The highlights then continued through lenses of LidoNation and their Catalyst Explorer presentation. To close out the trio, Wolfram Blockchain Labs introduced a series of blockchain insights and governance analytics.

But that’s not everything - the Catalyst team also kicked off Community Reviewer and Voter registrations. More on that below.

What’s the latest? Let’s dive right in.

Danny

Fund10 Timeline

Since it never hurts to repeat the key dates and events - here’s the last bit. Project Catalyst funding round consists of four phases: proposal submission, community review, community voting, and onboarding. We are in the proposal submission phase, where the community has until July 13th to submit a proposal to answer one of the many challenges found here.

The documentary Chasing The Wada Dream has been officially selected to be a part of Women Deliver 2023 Arts & Film Festival happening in Kigali, Rwanda this July 17-20.

What does blockchain mean for Africa? That’s the basic question for the documentary that describes the initiative called Wada in its early stage.

The film follows the story of Mercy and Josh, Megan and Manfo, Afia and Daniel and many others who are bringing education and new opportunities with this modern technology for Africa.

“This festival is a great place for a dialogue, it’s a place where we can openly discuss how blockchain and Cardano specifically can help with everyday issues in Africa,” says Petr Smělík, producer and director of this movie.

The documentary was financed thanks to Project Catalyst, a decentralized innovation fund on Cardano blockchain. The mechanism of funding is described in the documentary as well. It was filmed mostly in Ghana and Cameroon with additional scenes in London, UK and Lausanne, Switzerland.
