Crypto Cryptic Crossword Challenge #1

Hello Everyone,

Please feel free to have a crack at my first Crypto Cryptic Crossword Challenge!

No cyphers. No maths. Just good old fashioned wordplay. I’m based in Australia so I apologise if some of the clues have a cultural bias.

The clues are the 12 words that make up the pass phrase for this wallet:

The words are in the correct order. Recover the wallet and claim your prize!

The Clues:

  1. Juliet and one with a paddle will make you my son.
  2. A revision of a lofty rendezvous.
  3. Charlie, hurry, it’s an infatuation!
  4. English former white horse.
  5. Needle without the required thing.
  6. Hard work in powder arbour.
  7. Neon and a sound of relief form a relation.
  8. So corn chips express hesitation for football.
  9. A formula held in epic regard.
  10. A dream is in a whiskey hotel.
  11. Well fitted in situ.
  12. Sit on it, don’t stand in it.

Good Luck! When the prize is claimed, I’ll post the solutions and start on #2 Challenge. If it is not solved within the week, I shall consider gifting a clue or two.

Cheers,

Dave

I mean, it’s not really a crossword to be precise  But I really like the idea! :star: Crosswords automatically give people hints on like the number of letters and when you solve one word it gives you some letters from another word, etc

I would prolly call it somn like “Crypto Cryptic Conundrum Challenge #1:smiley:

I think it be great if I could post a challenge/crossword like this on my weekly newsletter! If you don’t mind (and the Ada is still there) could I post this one on next Monday’s newsletter??

before specify the address

Is there an address where we can see if the ADA is still there?

100 ADA it is just dust…

You can always just pass by if you are not interested in it. Yet you feel the need to comment that you would only do something interesting for more money. People solve puzzles for fun. Prize is there just to make it exciting to be the first to snatch it.

Having a ponder as to what on earth ’ A dream is in a whiskey hotel.’ might be…

I mean, I never had anyone offer me 7 dollars to figure out a few clues before.

Thanks Vantuz, I love your commitment to alliteration! And so it shall be named Crypto Cryptic Conundrum Challenge #1 henceforth.

You are also correct about the number of letters. That would be fair. And so the clues again with the number of letters contained:

  1. Juliet and one with a paddle will make you my son. (6)
  2. A revision of a lofty rendezvous.(6)
  3. Charlie, hurry, it’s an infatuation! (5)
  4. English former white horse. (3)
  5. Needle without the required thing. (4)
  6. Hard work in powder arbour. (8)
  7. Neon and a sound of relief form a relation. (6)
  8. So corn chips express hesitation for football. (6)
  9. A formula held in epic regard. (6)
  10. A dream is in a whiskey hotel. (4)
  11. Well fitted in situ. (4)
  12. Sit on it, don’t stand in it. (5)

I got it! Thank you. :tada:

Any chance of using Yoroi wallet next time? Daedalus is telling me restoration attempt is going to take 2 hours lol. With Yoroi restoration seems almost instant, if the UI is to be trusted that is…

Might as well publish your solutions, comrade

Oh man, those were really neat riddles! :ok_hand:

Kudos @Elurevad!

Hi All,

It would appear zerto has claim the prize - nice work!

I can use Yoiroi in the future. Can anyone tell me why the UI can’t be trusted? If it is all Kosher I’ll use Yoiroi for the next challenge.

I thought the puzzle may have had more legs than that. Maybe I need to make them a bit harder…

I’m still trying to work out ways for participants to contribute in return for the clues to create a larger prize pool. Any ideas welcome.

Stay tuned all for the next one.

Hey @Elurevad,
I hope you are doing well, what happened to this idea? Will there be a second puzzle?

Hi there Adatainment and fellow Crazy Cardano Cats,
Yes, doing well this end.
I did post a second challenge but as no one grabbed the cash after a couple of months I thought no one was interested, removed the 100 ADA and deleted the wallet.
Stay tuned for another puzzle.
