At the Catalyst Africa Townhall, we had the privilege of hosting the DirectEd Team, led by founder Simone, who shared their impactful work in Africa. DirectEd Development offers free coding bootcamps to promising students across the continent, equipping them with valuable digital skills essential for the modern job market.
Simone outlined DirectEd’s vision, mission, and the driving force behind their mission to empower African youth. Through their initiatives, they aim to unlock the full potential of future leaders driving Africa’s digital revolution.
One notable aspect of DirectEd’s approach is the utilization of blockchain technology to manage scholarships via smart contracts. This ensures that funds are disbursed only upon students achieving specific learning goals, fostering accountability and transparency in the process.
