I agree, I’m a minimalist so the most minute thing have to work for me in order for it to make sense. I will sit back and watch
@RonBorden Have you ever done software engineering and development for the banking or medical industry? I have. And that shit is hard. What Cardano is attempting is exponentially more difficult. They are attempting to create a fault free platform and currency that can be used by the world while ensuring that it is sustainable for generations to come. And they have been at it for 6 months or so. This project is not using an agile approach, its not focused on monetization, and its certainly not interested in being first meeting a hyper aggressive timeline to appease some random rants. I know you want to cash in and reap the rewards of your 1million ADA. This project will not get you there overnight. ADA is a 3-5 year project. Be patient. Or cut your losses and move on. Plenty of other coins for you to help pump and dump.
This is your first post in this thread… What makes you think I was talking about you?
@andone As I read your post I could hear/feel the theme song of Braveheart pulsing through every millimeter of my being.
Hey Dettox edicate is spelt educate - it says a lot about your comment!
Seems you are the forums spellchecker ? …criticize ideas, not people… ! read the guidlines please.
And btw. the u an i key are placed beside each other. May be not on your keyboard ?
My analytical talents tell me that this is a typo and no misspelling !!
Beat me to it. Screamed typo to me too.
Shareholder? You do realize a token is not a share in equity? This is the common misunderstanding of crypto. IOHK isn’t developing ADA so your “shares” increase in fiat value.
When I originally installed Daedalus it took 7 days to update- in my post above I was talking about just accessing the wallet to review my balances. I didn’t mean to infer carelessness when describing my pharmacy rewards program- I was trying to show how important it is to test all aspects of the software before releasing it. Without sounding petty here is another example of inadequate Cardano testing. Instead of watching CardanoExplorer process a transaction on my PC I loaded Explorer on my Note 8- loaded fine except it would not allow me to enter an address manually!
How to prevent these issues going forward!
Cardano needs an environment that simulates an investor’s setup - a simple PC with a standard internet connection -it should be completely separated from their development area. Then encourage a non programmer to try and make their software fail. The volunteer must treat the investors as if they were computer illiterate. When he/she can’t make it fail and response times are reasonable release the software and not before.
You didn’t read before you posted? That is the whole point of my postings here- check before releasing. Oh and while I’m at it- were you not attacking the contributer- please…
Ron I can see your point and if i had as much money as you in it I would be antsy. Perfectly normal and yes you should hold the team’s feet to fire. The wallet experience should be a top priority especially for people buying large amounts and wanting to move them off the exchange.
It’s fairly obvious that this version of Daedalus was rushed out but there are very good reasons (basically, everything in the docs and videos) to believe this is NOT typical of the project. These are still early days and I’m happy to consider it a beta, in effect if not in name, and to help a project I believe in by communicating with both other users and the team.
There are known issues that prevent updating, as far as I’m aware there are none that simply slow it down. If you believe in Cardano you should contact Daedalus support describing the issue carefully and supplying log files: https://daedaluswallet.io/faq/#support. If you don’t, maybe you should just sell out at the first opportunity and forget it.
Thank you RobJF for your reply, however, I’m not sure you read my entire comment or thread. Re the experience with CardanoExplorer I did in fact email support in Dec 17 explaining in detail the problem. There has been no response to my email to date. Did you notice the length I went to to be constructive in my last 2 postings? If I didn’t believe in this amazing project I would not have bothered. Nor would I have invested in 3 times the number of ADA than anybody here has admitted to owning. I have no intention of selling any in the near future, however, if that is the advice you are recommending then I suggest that you consider resigning! I will copy other senior executives in on my correspondence and your reply.
WTF would you believe that I am an executive, senior or otherwise?
I’m sorry you’ve had these obviously very frustrating experiences but to the best of my knowledge none of the participants in this thread bears any responsibility, however indirect. There are representatives of the Cardano Foundation who post in this forum (names beginning cf_) but I don’t get the impression any of them are executives.
I’m going to bow out of this discussion now.
I know how to spell educate, it’s just a typo you dimwitt.
I wasn’t inferring that you were an executive although I guess you could easily read that into my comment. Sorry. Having said that, it doesn’t take anything away from my general response nor excuse you for your last comment nor your opening statement in the email above. Having owned a successful software house employing 25 programmers for over 22 years, if anyone of them swore at a client as you have done they would have been fired. I don’t believe you are suitable for this role-period. I will be forwarding this thread to executives of IOHK and Cardano.
What role’s that, Kev?
Just when you think you’ve gotten out they drag you back in again!
Not only am I not an executive (never mind a senior one), I’m not an
employee, nor do I have any other connection with Cardano besides
holding ADA. Nor does anyone else who has taken part in this thread,
to the best of my knowledge.
Please don’t waste their time with your middle school pettiness. Congrats by the way for owning 3x more ADA than everyone! Keep up the hard work
I have no regrets because I have yet to encounter an issue that this community hasn’t been able to help me fix…
If you’re experiencing problems accessing your wallet while on a mac, check out my reply to the IOHK post here: IOHK statement: connecting to network issue
