HELP - Daedalus Wallet

Hello everyone, I am in a bit of a pickle with the Daedalus wallet. I first downloaded in 2021 to stake/hold my ADA. Daedalus has always been on my HD and I did the most recent update and it booted me out of my wallet. This is the first time this has ever happened. I would just click the app and have direct access to my wallet usually. (I would still need my ledger to move funds) It gave me the option to restore, import, connect hardware wallet. So I figured it booted me out for some reason I needed to restore. I entered my seed and it sync’d. Balance was 0 ADA. So either I have the improper seed phrase or something else happened? I am very diligent with my seeds so i’m not sure how this would have happened. I downloaded the yoroi wallet and connect that way in hopes to access my tokens. Still says 0 ADA, so I THINK this confirms my seed is incorrect. Am I missing something? Or is there a way to replicate accessing my wallet like previous without having to restore?

Before I dig in SUPER deep I want to exercise all my options. I found online there’s a possibility of a hidden folder under Daedalus that I could potentially give me access to my seed or my wallet somehow. I reached out to IOHK support but they arn’t super helpful. They told me where to find this document but it doesn’t exist. So I am left a little confused. I am hoping someone with experience could assist me. I will definitely be open to rewarding help with some ADA if I am able to regain access to my wallet/tokens. Thanks in advance!

First: Don’t follow scammers to any direct messages or other platforms.

Second: As always with Daedalus, 99% of users don’t really need that monstrosity with its resource and time requirements, but can just use one of the many light wallet apps to manage exactly the same wallets by just connecting the same hardware wallet, importing the same seed phrase.

If you use a Ledger, you are never supposed to enter the seed phrase into a computer. That’s the whole point of a hardware wallet to protect the seed phrase!

What’s more, in the case of Cardano, the Ledger does something else with the seed phrase than software wallets. So, it restores a different wallet which explains the 0 ADA.

Pair you Ledger with Daedalus or any other wallet app and you should see your balance.

Thank you very much for the simple description. I never knew my ledger was my seed. I thought it was a separate key to send and receive into my wallet in which I had to pair to my wallet afterwards. Aside from my daedalus wallet seed. Send me your cardano wallet address and I will send you some ADA. Otherwise thank you very much.
