Hi,
I have 2 wallets of Cardano. One SW wallet (daedaluswallet ) and one HW wallet (Yoroi with Ledger).
Today I have updated my daedaluswallet (with a 12 words recovery phrase) and also connected to my
2nd wallet (Yoroi with Ledger).
The daedaluswallet address starts with DdzFF.
The Yoroi address starts with Ae2.
The Yoroi wallet asked me to update the wallet. So now I am little confused, that I have missed a date.
I don’t want to stake the coins (because of our tax regulation). Can I keep the old Byron addresses and still able to transfer some coins to exchanges (Kraken/Bittrex) or is there a need to switch to new addresses?
And has Cardono plans to disable the old Byron addresses?
Hello,

Updated or moved the coins from daedalus byron to daedalus shelley (it’s a difference)?
The Yoroi wallet asked me to update the wallet. So now I am little confused, that I have missed a date.
The shelley mainnet was released on 29 Jul last year but byron is still working in parallel.

If u move the coins from Byron to Shelley it doesn’t mean you stake them. The delegation process will mean to manually delegate the coins to the pool. The process is not auto.
Can I keep the old Byron addresses and still able to transfer some coins to exchanges (Kraken/Bittrex) or is there a need to switch to new addresses?
If the exchanges are supporting shelley then they can require that the sender address to be also a shelley address. Anyway u can test it by sending 2-3 ADA for test
Cheers,
Hi,
thank you very much for the detailed answer. This has answered all my questions. Then I have now a good feeling to transfer my coins to the new wallet. I will try with some small amounts.
Servus.
