I’ve looked through the different posts and I don’t see anything that has been of great help. I upgraded to Version 0.13.1 and haven’t logged into it now for a year. I understand that this will take some time but I left it running at 7AM this morning, it’s now 8PM and I’m at 41% plus it loses connection to the network. What can I do to fix this?
Try connecting to the web via a VPN, there’re several free you can try with limited bandwidth like 500 MB hence you might need to use several different to download the rest of the blockchain. Some service providers block some of the ports required by the blockchain
Ok I just connected my VPN. Still running slow. It’s connected to Sweden now. Is there anywhere in particular I should connect to?
You should consider switching to a wallet that doesn’t require to sync, such as Yoroi, which is probably the best choice for most people these days. You can import a Daedalus wallet using the recovery phrase. https://yoroi-wallet.com/#/
Any part of the world is ok. If you haven’t downloaded the blockchain before then you might get the impression it’s slow. To give an idea, 5% might take 15 or 20 minutes in my experience.
As Rob points out, the Yoroi wallet is a “light” wallet which doesn’t need to download the entire blockchain and it has excellent reviews, many people are happy with it.
I have my phrase. So I wouldn’t need to even sync blocks? I can just start a recovery in Yoroi and it’ll work? Thanks by the way.
That’s right, no more syncing! There’s a video on how to do it, which I can’t find right now, but I’ll have another look, or maybe somebody else will chime in…
Yay! When I get home I’m gonna do that. Thanks guys!
