I don't have my 12 word phrase or pass code

Hi there, I have never bought any crypto before and someone suggested buying Cardano…I bought 1143 shares on Voyeger which then went bankrupt so I transferred them to Cwallet which then stopped supporting Cardano. It shows in the Cwallet that they were there but won’t let me send them out now. I don’t know how to recover them because I didn’t know about a 12 word phrase or passcode. Am I out of luck ?

If you dont have your seedphrase (12 words), you wont be able to access your funds anymore.

So sometimes I shock myself and actually do have the 12-word phrase. Can you tell me which wallet supports Cardano ? I’m sorry, I have zero idea about any of this type of stuff.

There are multiple wallets which supports Cardano.

Id try to restore the wallet on Typhon

This old lady thanks you very much !!!

You are welcome

Feel free to post again if you need anything else.

sorry me again. when I go into cwallet, it shows that cwallet received the 1143 ADA tokens but when I try to send them all to Typhon it won’t let me send them. Are they no longer on that site and just in the cloud somewhere ? And the Typhon says my seed phrase is wrong.

The tokens arent actually stored in your wallet, they are stored on the blockchain. Only the keys which you need to access these tokens are stored in your wallet. By restoring your wallet with your seedphrase, you did restore the keys to access them.

This means the software wallet is only a tool to browse the blockchain and to show information. So you can use multiple wallets at the same time and you will always see the same information.

ah, got it. But if it says my seed phrase is wrong, I’m pretty much out of luck now right ? (I know it’s not a lot of money but it’s something )

Ye… You can check here (bips/bip-0039/english.txt at master · bitcoin/bips · GitHub) if you maybe have a word on your list which doesnt match with the words from here.

i’m sorry to. be a pain and I promise I’ll go away soon…if the seed phrase was set up using voyeger, and they went bankrupt and I moved it to Cwallet, would the seed phrase be the same now matter where the tokens are ?

Important is: Did you use the Voyager seed phrase to set up CWallet or did CWallet give you a new one?

It really should have told you to write that down. Most wallet apps also have a little test to verify you really wrote it down.

You need to restore with the seed phrase used by CWallet (reused Voyager or new one) in Typhon (or Eternl or Lace or …) to get access to your wallet.

I have 12 words written down in my password book, so it has to be for my cardano but when i put those words into Typhon it says it’s not valid. Do you know if I have to set up a new wallet in Typhon first and then try and import the cardano. They really don’t have much in terms of instructions for dummies like me !!!

No, no need to set up a wallet before that. Importing the seed phrase is setting up a wallet.

If it says invalid phrase, then something is wrong with that phrase. During typing Typhon suggests you words that are on the word list. Maybe you selected a wrong one (or misread one in your notes)? Maybe wrong order of words?
