Is using 12 words recovery phrase the only way to restore Daedalus or can I use the Wallet Name + Transaction Password to recover?

You can only use the backup phrase.

  • The 12 words are literally your private key in an unencrypted form. Anyone that has this key can restore your wallet and send ADA anywhere.
  • A spending password can be used to store your private key in an encrypted form on your computer. This password isn’t required for recovery.
  • Wallet name is only there for convenience, doesn’t affect anything.
