Please help! I have seen this before and send responses like “12 Seed Shelly never existed”. Are there any updated on supports for recovering a 12 seed shelly wallet? I have my seed words. I have downloaded daedalus (like I have read here) and tried there but it says I have no funds. I’d appreciate any help. Thank you.
You can use https://typhonwallet.io/ which supports 12 word seedphrases.
Genuninely confused because right after i clicked you link i found a 15 word seed? I mist have 2? wow thank you so so much!
as long as you are able to access your funds again, it doesnt matter.
Glad that you found it!
For anyone stumbling about this thread in the future:
- No, Yoroi never created anything else than 15 word seed phrases! For both, Byron (
A2e…
) and Shelley (addr1…
) era wallets. - Daedalus did use 12 word seed phrases for Byron (
Ddz…
) and still uses 24 word seed phrases for Shelley (addr1…
). Setting up Daedalus in search for a 12 word Shelley wallet is just a waste of your time and disk space. - These are completely arbitrary decisions: Technically any seed phrase length can be used for Byron as well as Shelley wallets. Most Cardano wallet apps use 24 word Shelley wallets. Some multi-chain wallet apps use 12 word Shelley wallets.
Hi
I have 12 seed
But i can not see my assets
How can i get to my assets
Please guide to me
What wallet did you use?
Did you see any transactions at all when you restored the wallet?
Do you have a hardware wallet?
Hi Zyroxa,
I encountered the same issue.
I created an Yoroi wallet in 2021, connected with Trezor model T and it shows 12 seed phrases.
After that I staked ADA in Yoroi platform since then. Now I want to unstake and move out them out from Yoroi platform, but when I connect Trezor with Yoroi platform, it shows that Yoroi wallet needs 15 or 24 seed phrases which I only have 12…
I’ve also restored with Daedalus wallet with 12 seed phrases, it can connect but no amount is shown.
Please help🙏🏻
Then, you have to connect the Trezor to a wallet app to access your funds and not type the seed phrase in. The reason for hardware wallets is to never give the seed phrase to a potentially compromised computer.
Yoroi and Daedalus should both work when you do that, choose “connect to hardware wallet”, not “restore wallet”.
That being said, Trezor (but not Ledger and for 24 word seed phrases it’s also more complicated) uses a seed phrase derivation that is compatible with Cardano’s in general, but Yoroi just chose to not give the possibility to select a length of 12 and Daedalus chose to use a length of 12 exclusively for Byron wallets, not the currently used Shelley wallets.
If you really want to restore in software (making your Trezor completely superfluous), you can restore the 12 word seed phrase in Eternl, Typhon, Lace, and maybe others.
