Why does it take so long for the Daedalus wallet to open and sync?
Because you need to take the time to download the 3.2GB blockchain

Im in the samt boat as you atm mine is currently at 52%I expect it to be done within 1-2 hours.
As PW-Chen pointed out you can see this as a initial step if it’s your first time using the Daedalus wallet and should be much faster afterwards. It depends from when was the last time you used the wallet of course.
