It’s because your Ledger recovery phrase is not a Cardano seed phrase. It’s just coincidence that they’re both 24 words. What you’re looking at in Daedalus after doing that is a different wallet.
Hi Folks, while awaiting the Yoroi wallet upgrade to Shelly and compatibility with Ledger Nano, I managed briefly to connect my Ledger Nano with AdaLite and was able to move some ADA from Binance to my Ledger / AdaLite wallet. I was receiving constant error messages but always pushed “cancel”.
But now that I want to start staking that trick doesn’t work anymore. When I try to connect AdaLite in MS Edge i always get the error message from Windows Security “” Making sure it’s you - Please sign in to https://adalite.io – this request comes from Msedge, Microsoft. – insert your security key into the USB port “”””
When cancelling I get the following “””Error loading wallet, TransportError: Failed to sign with Ledger device: U2F DEVICE_INELIGIBLE.If you are using a hardware wallet, please make sure you are using the latest version of the Cardano application.
In Google Chrome I also get this last message and the browser completely freezes over.
I had upgraded the latest Cardano application in Ledger. So that can’t be the problem.
In above correspondence thread I pleaded already guilty to the fact that I am not very computer savvy. I checked the site permissions but can’t find anything out of the ordinary. Can anybody help me out so I can start staking my ADA?
Sorry to pass the buck but that looks like a Ledger problem, I’d get on to their support.
Thanks Robin, makes sense.
Are there no wallets currently, that support reading Shelly addresses via a ledger/ ledger recovery phrase at the moment outside of adalite? I understand that the updates are being worked on but was curious to know if that was the case currently. Or if there was a different way to go about accessing a Shelly wallet outside of adalite.
At the moment I’m afraid I’m not aware of any other option with Ledger than AdaLite.
Edit: saw something somewhere suggesting that when you get an error message with Ledger on AdaLite it’s misleading, what you actually need to do is look at the Ledger and do something with it – sorry that’s so vague, hope it might be helpful anyway.
Anybody knows when we expect Ledger to work with Yoroi?
I thought the recent ledger wallet update was the one for Shelly, but now I think I’m wrong.
Are we waiting for Ledger or Yoroi right now?
(I can only see Trezor when setting up the latest Yoroi)
Since the shelly upgrade (or ledger) i am experiencing an issue too. I am unable to send any funds from my yoroi wallet which is connected to my ledger. When i click the “Send using ledger” button after entering the address and amount, i am sent to a new window with
I do not have a Trezor and never have, nor have i setup the wallet in any way with a Trezor?
Help please, i cant move any funds.
I have not tried to move any money since the shelly fork if that helps.
Yoroi does currently not work with your Ledger device. You have to wait for the next update or use Adalite.io in the meantime.
Hello,
i’m really struggling to put ada from my Byron wallet on a shelley wallet on yoroi, someone to help me?
Just create a new Shelley wallet on Yoroi and then go to “Claim/Transfer” and transfer your funds from old legacy wallet to the new shelley wallet.
If you are in a hurry you can use adalite.io with Ledger. It works as it should. The company that created it also developed the Cardano Ledger app. I wrote a tutorial for it.
