What is Cardano’s potential for the future?

And of course the one of main features is the team’s approach based on a rule - “the code is law”.

I feel like Cardano is something that can adapt and grow into what ever the future brings. Plus the Cardano Team is redicules the sky is the limit.

Formal verification of smart contracts. Right now only Ethereum have some future plans for that, but there is only one person currently working on it (Yoichi Hirai), and unfortunately very few people in their community cares about formal methods. Because of this lack of interest I think it’s very unlikely they will actually get anywhere aside of a couple of papers and prototypes. This is were Cardano can shine.

I’ll buy as much as I can until December 1st.

$225B is nothin if u were to talk about the world’s Broad money + Stock Market + Forex Market (that is like less than 1% poured into ADA)

I can appreciate the concern that prices shouldnt fluctuate so much. But if the concept as per explained by Charles and this is the solution to solve the data and other matters. When the world adopt ADA. It can easily fly to $10.

Let time tell… =)

Hell im new to crypto and ADA just bought some and read their paper. Loved it! But what is happening in December?

Cardano Roadmap Update in 20 minutes.

Great update! Paper wallets coming soon!

Guess what? Exactly the same happend here. I showed my wife the same presentation and she saw the limitations of BTC too and how ADA would fix this. After that moment I decided to go all in.

The price of ADA is limited by the research, the public acceptance and use, and the utility of the blockchain… it is in no way limited by the number if ADA in circulation (25B) or the market capitalization. ADA is a currency, NOT A COMPANY. And as such, it’s actually the only currency with the ability to be used by all humans. Bitcoin can’t handle the load of 7 billion people. Neither can Ethereum. ADA is positioned to be the only large scale scalable currency, ubiquitous to all fiat, unbreakable by quantum, and secure. Peer reviewed (no other coin is doing this… opening their tech to others to actually check that it works as advertised).

By telling us that you think ADA can’t rise above $5 “for sure guaranteed” tells me that you’re not looking at the differences between BTC and ADA, and you’re not looking at ADA as a currency. You’re thinking of it as a “stock play,” or some kind of “share” in something.

You couldn’t be more wrong. I urge you to educate yourself. There’s lots to know. Cheers.

Hi Ryan, there are several options available. If you’re REALLY in a rush and want to get in the current dip (have a look it’s going up again, now might be a good time), you can buy ADA straight with your credit card, but with higher fees (2 or 3% I think) on Coinspot, then move your coins to your Daedalus wallet on your computer, where they’re safer than on the exchange, where you do not own them technically speaking.

Most of us trade on either Bittrex (US), Binance ( HK), UpBit or Coinnest (KOR). Here is the full list of the exchanges listing ADA so far. Registration can take from days to weeks on these exchanges depending on where you’re based, and due to regulations and KYC strict procedures. Generally, wire transfer is preferred as cheaper fees, but it also takes longer to get credited.

See my comment comparing Bittrex and Binance earlier today that might interest you.

Thanks so much for the reply. I’m from South Africa. Any specific exchanges that would be best for me?

People are looking at Cardano’s market cap potential and comparing it to Bitcoin and saying there is no way Cardano could ever reach a trillion dollar cap based on today’s numbers. Looking forward 2-3 years what do you think the market size will be then. It’s just heating up now and look out when mass adoption starts happening globally. Today the total market size of the crypto sphere is around $400 billion. During the dot com boom the market size was around $6.7 trillion. I believe cryptocurrency and blockchain tech will become way way larger. I see Cardano as being one of the leaders in a few years. A trillion dollar market cap by today’s standards seems huge… in a few years I could see that happening.

You’re welcome bruh. It all comes down to how in a rush you are, how much you are willing to pay in fees, if you like the interface of the exchange etc…

Personally I trade on Bittrex, I don’t care much about the fees because they offer a large choice of alts. However to buy ADA on Bittrex, you have to own either Bitcoins or Ethers (Ethereum). You can’t buy with fiat (yet). So maybe Coinspot might be the way to go.

But I would advise to definitely set up an account on Bittrex. You have the choice between basic account and enhanced account. Enhanced is better otherwise you’re not allowed to withdraw your coins… Be extra careful and always send out 1 or 2 coins first when moving your coins, just as security and to build confidence. And triple check that you have pasted the same address as the one you’ve copied. You wouldn’t believe what hackers are able to do nowadays to steal your coins (see this story and this one). Last but not least, apart from the first time, always check that you are on the legit Bittrex website. I would recommend to use a desktop icon to Bittrex, rather than use the google results that can be manipulated. And your private key (the 12 secret words), must be written down and NOT stored on your computer. It’s best to always be paranoid when it comes to moving your money online.

Best of luck mate!

Thanks Cosmos X  You’ve been a great help. What do you think of Coinbase? Or do they not trade in ADA?

I don’t think Coinbase has listed ADA yet.
I forgot to say that buying ADA with ETH might be cheaper and faster, rather than buying ADA with BTC. Especially now that BTC is congested. However that might change when Bitcoin releases its Lightning Network upgrade in January. Just so you know.
