Yeah just give it time . Everything this team is trying to accomplish will take a while. If the goal was first to get a huge user base then try to build the software around it you will run into problems trying to have a adequate wallet or scaling problems. If You scare easily then crypto is not for you, this project has me the most excited and if they can deliver on these promises the in a couple years you will say how far this project has come , how you were there in the beginning, Ethereum was under $1 in its infancy and bitcoin was under a dime , just hodl and ride that wave when you lose 90% of value and when it goes up 100x in future.
The short and easy answer as to what is different about ADA right now is - completely new, from scratch, codebase written after learning the lessons from Gen 1 (Bitcoin) and Gen 2 (Ethereum) problems.
I would say 95% of all coins out there are ‘copy coins’ from the original Bitcoin code. Copy it, adjust some parameters and presto, your new coin.
Very few coins have their own from scratch codebase and while that has drawbacks in the short run (i.e. wallet synching issue, etc) over the long run this advantage is tremendous b/c ADA will be able to scale and adapt and grow like no other coin due to their massive investment in a superior codebase and architecture.
That all sounds really nice and you are probably right > but in reality, facts of the ground, still these are only words and promises. Time will tell if the team is truly able to deliver, and IF, then people will adopt.
I must admit however in my recent research into what was happening with crypto 2, 3, and 4 years ago I hate to say but 3 years ago something very very similar happened… there were lots of people getting very excited about NXT COIN for the same reasons as why we are getting excited now about ADA… PoS, Treasury, Interoperability, etc etc… NXT was also supposed to be the next generation but look what happened with that.
Cardano seems the most credible of anything I have seen out there, but at the end of the day words and promises still are just that > until delivered.
You are right in that respect. And I had some NXT before but sold once it became clear to me that the project was a bit of a mess (how many names can you have in one currency…ardor, ignis, nxt, jeluridia…what a mess).
Anyway, I would liken this more to Ethereum which at one point was readily being sold at $12/coin…now at > $1K. But it wasn’t clear if the smart contract vision would really pan out, would people build on the platform etc.
So, the current price reflects that it’s not truly ‘live’ and is a work in progress. But clearly enough people do believe Cardano will succeed to push the market cap way above anything NXT has been able to do already, and if/when it’s successful then the price will expand to match.
All true… but again, words are only words, and promises only promises… the recent price hike is only a result of radical mania. It bears absolutely no reflection to true value.
But we have no choice do we? We need to invest early and hope. If we wait til a project is working then it will be too expensive already.
For me the main different is the team, I’ve been follow Charles for a while now, and he have a really good understanding of decentralized platform and protocol, also the fact that he is working with so many other expert, each in their own specialized field of study dveloping Cardano is what makes it my favoraite coin.
Furthermore, all the other coins right now may have solved scalability, but not governance, In the further Cardano will impliment voting and a Treasury, which allows Cardano the grow as a community in the long run. And that also means Cardano holder will be able to decide where we want Cardano to go next after is completly decentralized.
Bravo… I agree completely >>> however again - all words and promises right? None of this is actually happening now.
True. But so does all the other coins.
Not really… coins that have been around, like BTC and ETH, have quite a lot of adoption and you know what you are getting. However, as they are now they are inadequate.
So all this hype is about hoping a new coin will cut the mustard.
Dollar Cost Average broski. Watching these markets is too time consuming and wishing the entry point was x vs y is too time consuming. Dollar Cost Average and be confident of where the price is going.
