この48時間を振り返る時間ができたので、いくつか言っておきたいことがあります。まず、カルダノを有用なプロトコルとして支えているのは、SPOコミュニティです。インフラのニーズや経験を考えると、ここ数年、皆にとって険しい道のりでした。
必要なほど良いものではありませんでした。私は何年も前から、部分的なDelegation、Conclave、Pub/Sub、より良いドキュメントとサポートチャネルを望んでおり、開発への数千万ドルの投資を含め、その方向に進むよう皆を限界まで追い込んできました。
第二に、業界では何十億ドルものハッキングが行われており、オンチェーンガバナンスと安全なスマートコントラクトは難しいということです。私たちは皆、UXとセキュリティや高速配信のバランスを取るために、残業をしてきました。Cardanoは素晴らしい特性をたくさん持っていますが、厳しいモデルです。
正式なチェックアンドバランスとアップデートのより良い展開となる、より包括的な構造を展開するために、多くのCIPが進行中です。コミュニティは常にそのロールアウトの一部となっています。
個人的には、コミュニティのニーズや要望を代表する会員制の組織がないことに、深い不満を感じています。もし、やり直しがきくなら、今の知識で劇的に違うことをやっていたかもしれません。今、修正中ですが、時間がかかります。
また、エコシステム開発へのアプローチが断片的で、より迅速で持続可能な採用を促すための触媒以外の説明責任機構がないことにも、深いフラストレーションを感じています。この点についても、現在取り組んでいるところですが、時間がかかります。
これほど大きく、複雑なものの現実は、うまくいっていないことに囚われ、うまくいっていることを忘れてしまいがちです。私たちは、世界中に存在する多様で素晴らしい巨大なコミュニティです。素晴らしいプロジェクトや情熱が山ほどあります。
私は、このコミュニティがその能力を最大限に発揮し、世界をより良くするために力を発揮することを望んでいます。それに反することを目にすると、悲しくなり、怒りがこみ上げてきます。何をするかということと同様に、どう伝えるかということも重要です。

Now that I’ve had some time to reflect on the last 48 hours, I’d like to say a few things. First, the backbone of Cardano as a useful protocol is the SPO community. It’s been a rough road for everyone over the last few years given that the infrastructure needs and experiences.
Haven’t been as good as they need to be. I’ve wanted partial Delegation, conclave, pub/sub, much better documentation and support channels for years and have pushed everyone to their limits to move in that direction including investing tens of millions of dollars in dev.
Second, with the billions of dollars of hacks in industry, onchain governance and secure smart contracts is hard. We’ve all been working overtime to try to balance our UX with security and fast delivery. Cardano has a lot of wonderful properties, but it’s a tough model.
There are a lot of CIPs in process to roll out more inclusive structures that would create formal checks and balances and better rollout of updates. The community has always been part of that rollout.
I’m personally deeply frustrated that we don’t have a members based organization to represent the needs and desires of the community. I would have done things dramatically differently with my current knowledge had I gotten a do-over. It’s being fixed now, but it takes times．
I’m also deeply frustrated that we have a fragmented approach to ecosystem development and no accountability structures outside of catalyst to force more rapid and sustainable adoption. Again, this is being addressed, but it’s time consuming．
The realities of something this large and complex is that one can be easily trapped by the things that aren’t working well and forget the things that are. We are a huge community that is diverse and brilliant across the world. There are tons of great projects and passion．
I’d like to see the community reach its full potential and for its capabilities to be deployed towards making the world better. When I see things that go against that, it makes me sad and angry. How we communicate is just as important as what we do．
Over the last 3 days, I could have personally chosen a different approach. I regret that I didn’t and I’m sorry. Ultimately, the people who know me know exactly where I’m coming from. I hate seeing these and have personal experience in the damage they cause．
That doesn’t change the fact that you’re all members of a family and chose to be here. I feel like I’ve let you down and for that I’m sorry. Vasil is the last hard fork of an Era and many things are changing after it. New governance processes, more inclusive structures．
More useful code, faster development, more parallel efforts, and eventually cardano realizing the promise and potential of its community towards giving the world economic identity. I think we all want this and all are on the same side. Local events like these are teachable．
Moments that give us a chance to change and grow. Let’s get Vasil done together and then let’s move on to higher ground and fix some of the original sins of the project so Cardano can also grow to its next level．
I’m not going anywhere and this is still my greatest passion. I see how what we’ve built can change the lives of billions of people and I’ve met the people it can help. I don’t think anyone in our community feels any different. I just think we’ve grown to need to work．
Differently and more collaboratively. There will be an extensive post mortem of Vasil and where we are at and lots of great changes through CIPs and new organizations that represent all the different factions. IOG is a voice in that beautiful chorus. Thanks for being here．
