This post (by @TerrSmit) is potentially suspect AFAIAC. No one should ever ask for another persons private keys.
If you want to really help, you should just post a very clear and detailed set of instructions and offer to help anyone who still runs into trouble. These instructions should state very clearly that people should never hand over their private keys.
Hi, has anyone figured this Infinito byron era problem? Im in the same boat as everyone else, passphrase, private key, pub key…but no luck with restoring in any wallet. Ive even rolled back Infinito version, yoroi extension versions…nothing works. My ada is visible on block explorers. I emailed yoroi and IOHK, they both suggested daedalus and lace.io…but still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Try to restore your wallet with adawallet.io
Medusa Wallet won’t help. It also only restores the standard derivations.
No dice with adalite. It generates diff pvt and pub keys with my passphrase. Also no option to restore with pvt key…
Update. Byron era cardano that is stuck in Infinito wallets can be accessed and moved with the Moonstake wallet app. Tested and works. You import your wallet with your byron private key that Infinito gives you. Thanks to Hazel from the Infinito helpdesk.
