🚀 Cardano-Node Topology generator

The building of the network topology will be automated in 2-4 weeks after the launch of the main-net.
Till that time, there is a handy way how to build the topology:

https://a.adapools.org/topology
https://a.adapools.org/topology?geo=us&limit=20

GEO is an optional parameter. GEOIP is used for searching among neighbors.
LIMIT determines the number of results.

OR you can get topology by continent with:
https://a.adapools.org/topology?continent=eu (eu,as,na,oc,sa)

To configure the output please change parameters in the URL.

The tool searches functional relay nodes that are present in the blockchain.

The point is, that all nodes with the relay nodes that are present in the blockchain, will be connected sooner or later when the topology is used. It is not necessary to send anything to somewhere, fill in a form, or set up anything.

Nice work!
However only talking to nodes in your own country or continent isn’t ideal. We want new blocks to disperse across the globe asap.
It would be better you specify your continent and most peers where from that continent (say 75%) , but there rest where randomly picked from the rest of the world.

The generated format is wrong, port is an Int not a string.
{
“pool”: “[BFSA] BFSA”,
“addr”: “176.58.113.142”,
“port”: “7881”,
“valency”: 1
},
Should be
{
“pool”: “[BFSA] BFSA”,
“addr”: “176.58.113.142”,
“port”: 7881,
“valency”: 1
},

Thank you! F5 please :slight_smile:

If user filter by geo/continent, is marked type=regular + there is random 5 relays from another places as type=additional-world-relay.
Ofc all relays are shuffled

Nice, I’ll try it out.

How can pool operators add new relays to the topology?

relays are obtained directly from the blockchain, when registering the pool

Hello, there is a bug in the sql request, could you fix it ? Thanks.

It is always a good idea to write what kind of bug you are experiencing and maybe something to reproduce or what you tried already.

I think @marchand_e must have been referring to the fact that visiting
https://a.adapools.org/topology
yields:

<div class="alert mt-3 mb-3 alert-danger m-5 p-5"><b>Database Error.</b> Sorry for that!<hr><small>[ERROR:  relation "pool_relay" does not exist

Sorry for this, yes i can’t manage to get the list, error is :
LINE 1: SELECT dns_name, port, ipv4 FROM pool_relay WHERE id=1733
^]

Database Error. Sorry for that!
[ERROR: relation “pool_relay” does not exist

And when i set up topologyUpdater i get : blockNo xxxx seems to be not sync :frowning:

This is because db-sync not worked and adapools.org was stopped.
Im now compiling mainnet-candidate today and will update that for this version.
Thanks for feedback!

Is there a way to use this https://a.adapools.org/topology?limit=15 while including custom nodes?
