wallet name doesn’t need to match, you can restore it but you will can’t spend your ADA because you will need the spending password in order to do that (valid for restore via import file option);

I have the same problem as @Steste. I have Daedalus 2.5 and it’s been trying to sync for about two months to no success. Will we need to download 3.3? How can we be sure the new Daedalus won’t overwrite our old files if we have to manually re-download? Nervous I’ll lose my funds if I have to re-download just to get the import feature.

Would definitely appreciate a walk through video or screenshots to make sure I don’t lose funds after being so close!

You can go and bkp your private.keys before to download/reinstall the new version

No luck if you’ve downloaded a version post 0.15.1? Newer users won’t be able to regain their funds then?

Hey guys, just want to report back that it worked!!

Did u reinstall ur windows meantime? Or deleted all wallet folder in the past? Try in recycle bin;

I didn’t reinstall windows and I didn’t erase the directory… I have no idea what’s going on, I understand it’s my fault that I lost the passphrase but all I want is for this software to work someday …

IT WORKED! I DIDN’T NAME THE WALLET OR HAVE A SPENDING PASSWORD! Literally was “unnamed” and no password check. LET’S GO THANK YOU SO MUCH

I just installed daedalus for the first time. Like @Steste I don’t have any secret keys. Do they appear after I deposit some ada? I want to make sure that I can backup my assets.

Nope, when u go to add new wallet - shelley u must use the import from file options and should be able to locate itself the files…
