Transcription:

Rami : Hello everybody. Hope all is well. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays for everyone. So this is the Intersect Mena Town Hall for December, the wrap-up of the year.

We will have also have one more in January to wrap up all of 2024 and see how we are going to move in 2025. For now, just a disclaimer: this will be posted on YouTube. If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to interfere. So I will start sharing my screen.

Okay, I assume you guys are seeing my screen. So here we go, Intersect Mena Town Hall December 2024. In today’s presentation, we will talk about historic milestones, global effort, next steps on-chain, consideration of the constitutional committee, Plomin hard fork update (which is hard fork number 2), technical steering committee, governance in numbers, open source, and important resources as usual.

So, Cardano’s Constitution: a historic milestone in decentralized governance. As we can see, the Constitutional Convention 2024 happened, and after 63 workshops across 51 countries, participants came together to refine and strengthen the Constitution. These efforts culminated at the Cardano Constitutional Convention, held simultaneously in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Nairobi, Kenya. Here we can see pictures of the Faculty of Law at the University of Buenos Aires. This is what happened at the convention in Buenos Aires and in Kenya. These are pictures.

So the results, as we can see, show that 60 of 63 votes (95%) are aligned. The now delegate-approved Cardano Constitution is the foundational document that translates the community’s values and decisions into a set of principles, rules, and responsibilities. It defines the governance framework for the Cardano ecosystem, outlining stakeholders’ roles and obligations, including delegated representatives, stake pool operators (SPOs), and others. This institution guides Cardano toward becoming a sustainable platform for Web3 products and services.

Here we can see a selfie from the chair of proceedings in Buenos Aires, Lloyd Duhan. We can also, in these PowerPoints, press Control and click wherever we see it highlighted in blue to go directly to the link. You can watch the entire event that happened on cardanoconvention.com.

Next step: on-chain consideration. The delegate-approved Constitution is a significant milestone but requires one step further. It’s now up to the entire community to decide, following the Plomin upgrade that will happen in January 2025.

The Constitutional Committee’s role: like the interim Constitution, the Interim Constitutional Committee (ICC) helped in the first stage of the chain upgrade. The ICC provides technical foresight, ensuring the initial community-submitted on-chain governance actions adhere to the Constitution’s thresholds and safeguards. If the delegate-approved Constitution is ratified, the ICC will adhere to and uphold the new version. The ICC’s term concludes in the summer of 2025. After that, there will be an election for a new ICC.

Plutus and Hard Fork: there has been a release, 10.1.3. We can see the details in the link below. Mainnet hard fork and plan 529: what is 529? It’s the epoch. So the hard fork working groups must have requirements met. Availability and time constraints will also have been met by mainnet epoch 529. Readiness page updates: the hard fork readiness page, which we can click on from this link here, is on the Intersect knowledge base to keep the community updated and go towards the mainnet.

Technical Steering Committee: core infrastructure roadmap (CIR) prioritization. You can read more about it here. The entire backlog of project briefs for proposal roadmaps, items submitted to date, is now publicly available for review in the Technical Steering Community knowledge base. We can always click here. The committee would like to thank all those who completed the survey and provided feedback to help shape the 2025 core infrastructure roadmap.

Governance in numbers: as we press ahead following Chain number one, follow the progress of governance actions on-chain here. Every week since Friday, November 29, 2024, we’ve advanced from epoch 524 to epoch 526. We can see the number of unique delegators increased, the total number of vote delegations increased, the total Drep-vote increased, and the total number of Drep-registrations increased.

Open Source: the open-source office is excited to celebrate the achievements of our Developer Advocate Program. Intersect’s Advocate Developer Program: all of the selected advocates—Alex Seregin, Bernard Sibanda, Suganya Raju, and Udai Solanki—have not only accepted the tasks set before them but exceeded expectations. Here we can read more about the developers, and we can always press Control and go to their LinkedIn profiles, get in touch, and see their work.

Finally, the important resources: as usual, Intersect knowledge-based detailed information on governance committees and fun. Intersect website to get the latest news and roadmap updates. Go to participate in governance testing and community interactions: Discord and Telegram. We can always join working groups from there. Socials like X and LinkedIn: follow on Twitter / X and LinkedIn for updates.

The leadership, of course: very familiar faces. This has been a quick one as a wrap-up for December and as a wrap-up for 2024. Thank you to everyone that has found the time to be part of this. This has been presented to you by myself, Rami Hanania. Hope all goes even better in 2025, and I will stop recording. Bye-bye, guys. Thank you.
