Interview - Cardano NFTs #056: Sustainable ADA

Original Placement:

Today’s Cardano NFT project is an education and research social enterprise working towards closing the gap in knowledge and understanding of the web3 and blockchain ecosystem: Sustainable ADA.

The previous guest was a project building the first Web 3 affiliate network on Cardano.

This initiative is a point of reference for NFTs on Cardano and every week or two we will invite someone to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.

Hey, glad to have you here. Please introduce your team, where are you from, what are your backgrounds?

Sustainable ADA is composed of founders Cole Bartlett and Razali Samsudin. We are joined by other team members, advisors, and interns from around the world based across 5 continents. Cole is based in Salt Lake City, USA. Razali is based in Paris and London.

Razali has a background in Education as a Teacher of Humanities (Geography, History, Sustainability) having taught thousands of learners online, in schools, universities and in homes across Europe and Asia. He has worked in the impact sector for over 15 years at NGOs such as Greenpeace Indonesia, Forum for the Future, social enterprises, and is now Co-Founder of Impact Web3, Sustainable ADA and Streets of ADA — A Samsudin Brothers Projek.

Cole Bartlett has a background in Economics and Sustainability. During his senior year of college, he found a strong passion for how blockchain technology could be used to make the world a more sustainable and equitable place for all. He jumped further into the Cardano space by joining weekly coding/education sessions with James Dunseith from Gimbalabs. These were Gimbalabs’ first Project Based Learning courses in the Cardano ecosystem. This is when Cole thought of starting Sustainable ADA, and explained the first ideas to James. A little further along Cole met Razali in a Fund 5 Project Catalyst town hall. James had also helped connect the two, and the rest has been history.

What is Sustainable ADA and how are you utilizing NFTs in your project?

Sustainable ADA is an education and research social enterprise. We are working to close the gap in knowledge and understanding of the web3 and blockchain ecosystem, and developing tools and resources to equip, enable and empower learners to join the digital economy, and connect the dots between Cardano, blockchains and sustainability.

Like a glass of your favourite drink, we see NFTs like a glass that is holding your favourite digital media. Whether it be our recent Cardano Impact Report which showcases 65+ impact use cases from the Cardano and SingularityNET ecosystems, or Art as Activism that connect with Proof of Impact in the form of metadata, as being explored with Streets of ADA — A Samsudin Brothers Projek, in partnership with Palawan NGO Network Inc (the Philippines) and Rimba Non Profit Organization (France and Indonesia). NFTs are the means and vehicle to present impact data, and help deploy finance and capital to where it’s most needed i.e. to NGOs and grassroots local communities, in a transparent, verifiable and cost effective manner.

Can you delve a bit into the Cardano Impact Report? What is its purpose?

The report highlights the positive social and environmental impact Cardano is having on communities and businesses around the world.

From financial inclusion to environmental sustainability, you can see all the connections Cardano has to sustainable development, highlighting how Cardano is making a real difference.

We hope that with the Cardano Impact Report, people can receive inspiration and have a source that they can refer to when talking with people about the opportunities that exist in this ecosystem.

Inspiring hope through action as shown by the numerous diverse changemakers found within the report!

What does the future hold for Sustainable ADA? Please share your vision.

Alongside Dr Mihaela Ulieru, Chief AI Alchemist at SingularityNET, we delivered our Masterclass at the Cardano Summit in Dubai on Saturday 4th November at 14:40–15:30 (Dubai local time).

“Recalibrating Value, Identity and Impact through the Blockchain: The Cardano Impact Report”

If you need a potion of hope and inspiration through “Proof of Real-Life Projects”, this Masterclass is a testimony that we can unleash the Potential of the “Impact Mob” through Blockchain Technology for a Sustainable Future. The Cardano Impact report is not just about Cardano and its partner communities like SingularityNET; it is about an awakening to the wider global issues we face today and a clear call to action that our time has come to address them head-on!

We are actively seeking investors, and anyone willing to support us in realising our vision of an equitable world for all, where people and planet are protected as part of a common cultural heritage.

Our mission is to close the sustainability finance gap and digital divide, by creating resources, tools and platforms that accelerate the deployment of finance and capital to where it’s most needed, sooner rather than later given we have until 2030 to achieve the global goals for a better world for all.

We are currently building the Proof of Impact Platform, Domino DAO and welcome any and all support! Get in touch!

Great contribution. Any closing comments? Where can people learn more?

We are moving to an umbrella of products and services under Impact Web3. To learn more follow this link.

Follow us across our channels and reach out to us if you would like to join us on our mission to build an equitable world for all!
