My ADA sent to Ethereum address not completed

Hi, please assist in recovering my ADA sent to Ethereum address. Installed BSC on metamask and added BNB to metamask however when trying to send transaction back to binance I am confused on adding addresses. I see the transaction on bscscan.
Thanks,
Anjie

unfortunately there is no way to recover your ada. if you send a coin to an address that is not that coins those coins are essentially destroyed/burned.

You can send your transaction back on address generated by binance against the same chain that you originally sent the address too (note that your custom token might not be BNB itself, especially if you sent it to BEP token). But again, that’s a chain completely unrelated to Cardano, and it’s best to use Binance support/forums for specific steps…

All the best!

Thank you for responding, binance hasn’t been much help. I feel like I’m almost there but when I copy the contract on metamask it doesn’t bring over the balance for me to send back to binance.

Hi asingh59,
Your prospect for success depends on how you accomplished the original transaction from Binance to your ETH address. Do you recall which network you used to send your ADA to your Ethereum address?
Perhaps, if you used the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) for this original transfer, we might be able to send it back to Binance in a similar fashion.
Can you please expand on these points?

Hi,

Ues, I feel like it was sent via binance smart chain however not sure. Is there an area I can find out, binance mentioned I can send this back but they didn’t give clear instructions. I see the transaction in bscscan as pegged ADA

Thanks for your help.

I may be incorrect, but if it’s reading as pegged ADA, I think that typically means it was sent on a Binance blockchain.

You’re not being very clear. However, it sounds like the BSC network was used. I am going to assume you are using MetaMask on the BSC network. Can you find the “pegged ADA” in your wallet?

If so, go to Binance > Deposit > ADA > Choose BSC network (for the deposit) and obtain a deposit address. You will need a little BNB in your BSC wallet for “gas” and then send the pegged ADA back to Binance. From there, use the Cardano network to send this ADA to Yoroi, Daedalus or your Cardano wallet of choice, (as you probably should have done in the first place).

Hi,

I am using metamask binance smart chain, I see the pegged ADA on bscscan. Not sure what you mean in my wallet, I can see under the transaction history in my wallet.
My ADA is on binance exchange and not in a wallet.

Thanks again for your help

Your original post - seems to indicate that your pegged ADA is not on Binance. Which is it?

Hi,

It is in Binance.
Thanks,
Anjani

Yes, but it seems like the solution is to send back to binance using metamask and installing BSC. Send it back as bep20bac deposit address. I’m having a hard time to bring the pegged ADA balance into metamask to send it back.
Thanks,
Anjani

I’m going to give it one last try. This thread is off-topic as it relates to Binance Smart Chain (BSC). If you can’t sort it out from here, perhaps follow up with Binance support. (Good luck with that…)

It sounds like you may not be on the right MetaMask or (more likely) the right account on your MetaMask. I recommend getting on the same device that you used to make the transaction in the first place, then find the correct “account” on that MetaMask. Perhaps you will recognize the string of numbers and letters, as this is your Ethereum address as well. Note that this account will agree with the BSCscan “receiving” address, as BSC uses Ethereum-style addresses.

OK, when on the correct account, click the network drop-down box at the top of MetaMask and choose the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network. If it is not there, you will need to input some details. There are many tutorials online that demonstrate how to setup MetaMask for use on BSC. (But you have to be on the correct account in this case or you will not find your pegged ADA.)

Having said all that, if your pegged ADA is still not showing up automatically, you may have to add it manually. MetaMask “help” has the details if you need them.

To recap, if you are on the correct MetaMask device, on the correct account, on the BSC network on that account, you should find your pegged ADA. Then follow the steps already given (above) to send it back to your Binance exchange account. Good luck!

Hi, I understand it’s BSC however it’s my ADA that’s pegged. I am having a hard time bringing the balance on On metamask as BSC network. Binance hasn’t been helpful at all but I know they can assist me.

Thanks,
Anjani

Hi, is it possible to assistance over the phone for small fee.
Thx,
