Please urgently help me with my Daidalus wallet.

Hello.
I don’t know much about Daidalus wallets.
I created them in 2021 and my wallet is marked as Byron.
However, when I try to transfer tokens from that wallet to another, I get an “Error occurred” warning.
The pending transaction is created, but the history of that transaction is not found on the network.
Some people say this problem is caused by a bad UTXO, but the underlying issue is that I’m too clumsy and forgot the seed phrase.
I only have the Daidalus wallet security key.
Please help me.

That it creates a pending transaction should mean that you have password correct.
Is the Daedalus fully synced? It will only work correctly once it is.

If and when you get this working, it’s probably best to move everything to a new Shelley wallet in a light wallet app, e.g., Lace.

You can’t. You have to get sending in Daedalus working!

The light wallets (except for adalite.io and adawallet.io) cannot even handle Byron wallets. And those two can also only import with seed phrase. Hence: “If and when you get this working …”

If you happen to have an old Daidalus wallet, could you send it to me? Any version lower than 3.3.0 will do.

Daedalus contains a full node and you need a recent version of Daedalus with a recent version of the node inside, so that it is able to communicate with the rest of the network.

Then, it’s all good and you just have to try to figure out what your error is and/or wait for IOG support.

I just remembered that 90% of the “I only have secret.key!” questions are about a secret.key that belongs to those two addresses. It is going around for years and it does not contain the private keys for them. People have tried many, many times. And some were scammed to pay for that file.
