Restore ADAs with Ledger Nano X

Hi there!

I’m trying to restore my ADAs with Yoroi wallet, but nothing seems to work. Many years ago I bought my ADAs in EToro and transfer them from EToro wallet to Yoroi wallet. I connect my Ledger Nano X to enter in Yoroi wallet, so I don’t have secret words.
My ADAs are still in Byron-era. I got in touch with Emurgo help desk, and they suggested I should try to connect my Ledger to Daedelus or ADAlite and then change era. I did it, but I can’t see my ADAs there and I’m not able to change into Shelley-era if I don’t see them. I still can see my ADA balance on blockpit, so my ADAs are there.

I wrote again to Emurgo this week to explain that is doesn’t work with Daedalus or ADAlite and they say that I don’t need to do that anymore, I can now connected my Ledger with Yoroi wallet, delet the new wallet that was created, connect again the Ledger and it should come a prompt to confirm the transaction to claim the Byron-era wallet balance to a Shelley-era wallet. But again, this prompt never showed up.

What shall I do now? I hope someone can help me. Many thanks

There are only a few wallets still supporting Byron era wallets.

Try to connect your ledger device with adawallet.io and migrate to a Shelley wallet.

If they say that they introduced functionality to automatically move from their Byron-era wallets, I would really try to get that working.

Maybe, your Yoroi extension was not updated to their latest version when you tried or something like that.

I would try to remove the extension completely, install it again from the store to be sure to have the latest, and pair the Ledger again.

By ADAlite my balance is always zero.

Here is the process that Emurgo wrote me, I tried but I did something wrong because nothing happens..

Regarding the upgrade from the Byron wallet, you will need to remove the current copy of the wallet in Yoroi by going to Settings > Wallet > Remove wallet - You can try on a different browser first to avoid having to remove an existing copy . Then reconnect the ledger again using Connect hardware wallet option.
After connecting, you should see a prompt to confirm the transaction to claim the Byron-era wallet balance to a Shelley-era wallet, please choose Upgrade as it is prompted.

And more:
May I ask if you had removed the old copy of the wallet created by the same Ledger in Yoroi or try the process on a browser with the Yoroi newly installed without the same wallet being there? If you have not remove the old copy of the wallet, chances it will just pull up the existing wallet that already restored before instead of starting the Byron upgrade prompt.

With “open in another browser” they means I have to open Yoroi wallet for example with Chrome and Edge extension at the same time (Firefox already tried not working), right? I don’t get how to cancel the old wallet if I cannot see it.
Any ideas where my mistake/s is/are?

Yes they way you tried sounds right.

As i said, id probably try to use adawallet.io since its one of the few wallets which is still support some kind of Byron support.
