I have switched from an Exodus wallet to the Trezor Safe 3 hardware wallet using the recovery seed words. All of my crypto shows except the Cardano shows a 0 balance. I can still see the funds on Exodus. What could the problem be? Thanks!
That’s usually not how you switch to a hardware wallet. The idea is that the seed phrase is only on the hardware wallet and an offline paper (or steel) backup, but never on an Internet-connected computer where malware could steal it. Re-using the seed phrase from a software wallet half-spoils this idea. (Yes, if you haven’t had malware up to now and completely wipe everything where the seed phrase or the keys derived from it could have been on the computer, it could be seen as maybe-okayish.)
For Cardano, Exodus uses a totally non-standard key derivation. (It’s not about the derivation path, that one is the same, but about how the path is interpreted, which algorithms it is fed into.)
You won’t find any other software wallet app or hardware wallet that does the same thing as Exodus. You have to migrate by sending from Exodus to the new wallet (either the one you just did with the same seed phrase or a fresh one).
