Howdy, I don’t quite understand how typhoon can be compatible with the glacier drop? I don’t seem to be able to generate a new unused address at least… the one that’s used when I choose to connect to the midnight portal with the wallet extension is the same one I’ve used generally for the wallet, Enlighten me please.. I’d like to point some light critisism to the midnight FAQ too:
“How do I know if a Cardano Destination Address is “unused”?
For the purposes of qualifying as a Destination Address, an unused Cardano address is a Cardano blockchain address that, at the moment of making a claim, has no history of on-chain transactions. That is, it must NOT ever have received or sent any amount of ADA or other tokens, and it must have no on-chain interaction history.
A Cardano wallet account consists of one or more addresses. A wallet may have — or may be able to generate – unused addresses even if other addresses belonging to that wallet account itself hold tokens and/or have a history of transactions.””
It doesn’t actually answer the question of “How” it just reminds that an unused address is needed and some wallets may have or may be able to generate a fresh address"..
!!! !!! !!! Edit; so the claim portal actually tells if the address is used, but if you’re careful like me and try to read up on things before connecting a wallet anywhere, that FAQ becomes quite uninformative and at least gave me a very bad impression about the whole thing… at least it could say there that the portal will not even work with a used address…

Just use another sub account in Typhon.

Ahaaa, I see, so that’s the equivalent of a new adress?
Thank you for a rapid answer!

Not exactly. I think theres no way to generate a unused address from the same account anymore, since Typhon is using a single address only.
Its more like a workaround.
You could also restore the wallet in a wallet like Yoroi or Eternl, generate a new address there and to the claim via these wallets.

There is a fresh address in there tho… and it was accepted, the transaction signing popup was just darkgray with nothing in it however….
But is this gonna turn into a situation where I can only access that specific address in typhoon? (and then typhoon shuts down before I move the tokens;funds lost)

Nah you can access sub-accounts also via Eternl if im correct.

I see, I’ll take your word for it ;D I do intend to get a hardware wallet soon, So shouldn’t be too long before I move them.
The transaction signing window now works when I returned to the first account in the typhon extension… yay

Still here zyroxa? got some more issues with another wallet, Yoroi
It wont pick an unused address when I try to claim, So I enter one manually but now I need to give it my wallets signing message manually too, Sadly I dont seem to figure out how to get this from yoroi, I think I have the public key, but not sure of it tbh….

Why dont you just restore the wallet from Yoroi in Typhon?

Yea, I ended up doing that, I’m just allways so paranoid about writing those very very secret words down in anything connected to the internet…
