Hello,

At the befinning when u created the wallet u set a wallet name and a spending password. If u don’t remeber ur password, u can restore ur wallet, but for this operation you will need the seed words

Cheers,

Why wasn’t I asked to create a spending password when I installed the wallet?
I did not ‘forget’ the password – I never had one.
How do I ‘simply’ delete the wallet?
What happens to the ADA that are in the wallet when I delete it?

Impossible - you set a wallet name and a spending password

I did not ‘forget’ the password – I never had one.
Every new wallet require a name and a spending password

How do I ‘simply’ delete the wallet?
Delete/remove wallet

What happens to the ADA that are in the wallet when I delete it?
Ada are on chain not on your wallet, so deleting the wallet will not lead to loss your ADA, but you will need to restore your wallet with your correct seed words in order to get access again to your funds!

I’m wondering the exact same thing! I never have the option to choose a “spending password” wtf???

Maybe because you used a hardware wallet? Then there is no spending password, you have to confirm the transaction on the hardware device.

I installed the wallet on my iPhone ? Is that a hardware wallet ? How do I confirm the transaction if so ? Thanks in advance.

If it is a hardware wallet inside yoroi unde the wallets name u will see ledger word… if not it means there is a simple wallet

I installed a cardano (ADA) wallet with my ledger nano x, and additionally an ergo wallet, but not via the ledger nano x as this was not supported ( I could not find reference in the ledger apps). Now when I want to transfer my ERG I am being asked for a spending password which I have never been asked to set. This is very frustrating to say the least. Until crypto becomes simplified and streamlined many mainstream users will shun this technology.

I just bought a new phone and forgot my spending password but I have my seed phrase.

Shelley wallet using Yoroi on Android

I want to add it to my new phone so I have to click “restore wallet”. After putting in the correct seed phrase and confirming the checksum and address to be correct, it asks me for the wallet credentials (name and spending password).

Do I have to delete the wallet on my old phone before it will let me put it on my new phone? (I don’t want to and it sounds like I don’t need to)

This looked like a great walk-through but it showed options I didn’t have.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Delete the wallet from the old phone only when u are 100% sure that everything is fine on new phone… there is no issue installing the wallet on multiple devices same time

Thanks for the quick response!

Any thoughts on why I can’t restore it on my new phone then?

Why is it asking for a spending password if I’ve never had it on this phone?

On a new phone u need to open yoroi → add wallet → restore wallet → enter the seed words + set the wallet name + spending password (here u will set the wallet name and spending password for the wallet)

PS: at that step u will set the wallet name and spending password… can be or not same as the wallet from ur old phone

Thank you!

Not sure why it was giving me an error before but I was just able to restore them. User error maybe lol
