Ada balance in wallet went to 0

I opened an adalite wallet approximately 6 years ago. Printed out 2 copies of the public address and seed phrase, put 1 in my safety deposit box and 1 in my safe. I signed on with my 12 word seed phrase a few years ago, everything was correct. I attempted to sign on recently , but I was informed that the Byron wallets were changed to a Shelley system and were incompatible, a caption advised me to try and sign on to Daedalus. After 4 days of downloading Daedalus My transaction history is there but the balance is 0. There is no receive button so you can’t verify your public address. I contacted iohk support and the stock. “You must have forgotten your seed phrase” nonsense is offered up, which is not even possible. There support is totally useless. The ADA is in my public address on Cardano scan. Of course others have had this issue as I’ve been reading.Anybody have any suggestions.

Why did you download Daedalus?

Really read what Adalite tells you:

If you don’t see your balance, especially for Daedalus users, you are asked to try Daedalus instead.

But you weren’t a Daedalus user before. You always used Adalite. You can most probably just close that notice window and see your whole balance in Adalite. (In fact, we are regularly sending Daedalus users to Adalite because Daedalus is such an impertinence to use.)

I did close the warning window, the adalite wallet shows 0 balance

could you please provide the receiving address you see in adalite?

Does it show the correct receive addresses?

Does it show your transaction history?

If not, I guess IOG support could be right and it is just the wrong seed phrase.

Shows the correct receive address
Shows the correct history

That is not an Adalite or Daedalus Byron address. As you can see in Adalite’s receive tab, they all start with Ddz.

Ae2… addresses were the flavour of Byron addresses used by Yoroi back then.

Quite possible that these two transactions

were you moving your funds from Adalite to Yoroi five years ago – first a 10 ADA test transaction, then the rest. Which would mean you would have to search for a 15 word seed phrase.

I only moved from Daedalus to adalite. I didn’t even know about Yoroi until a week ago. Back 6 years ago adalite wallets began with Ae……

What nobody is able to answer is, why is there no “Receive” choice when I sign into my wallet so I can verify my address?

In Adalite or in Daedalus?

Both wallets

The “Receive” tab in Adalite is just missing?!?

Yes no receive

This all happened after they switched to the Shelly system. Others have had the same problem

…, but none of your addresses – neither the Ddz… supposedly from Daedalus nor the Ae2… supposedly from Adalite – are Shelley addresses. This all happened way before the Shelley protocol upgrade.

… but in

you said that Adalite did show the correct receive address???

Anyway:

Is the last transaction that is shown this one?

Is it shown as outgoing or as incoming?

How exactly did you do that? Did you just restore the same seed phrase that you had in Daedalus into Adalite and it suddenly gave you a different address? Or did you generate a new seed phrase in Adalite?

Is there any possibility that there is a second seed phrase somewhere, really would expect it to be a 15 word phrase, and the 12 word you are currently trying is just the wrong one?

No I created a second seed phrase, 12 word back 6 years ago. I printed out the public address and seed phrase. Several years ago I used the seed phrase and all was good.

But there never was a transaction from Ae2tdPwUPEYypir4dpGVTgFmFhvERndk9zdMQsDcuQUbhvWUbMp67ZEMdbu. Nothing was ever signed with keys corresponding to that address.

Again, you say that you can see the transaction history when signing into Adalite with the seed phrase. Does the last transaction say “+26 190.418356” as it should if it is the wallet with the Ae2 address? Or does it say “- 26 190.590613”? In the latter case, it is the seed phrase for your old Ddz Daedalus wallet and it just is empty, because funds were moved to the other wallet.

I found the issue. I signed onto ledger live and it showed 0 ada, so I figured the keys were not on my ledger. I signed onto adalite wallet with my ledger and the wallet was retrieved with the correct balance. The seed phrase I was trying to sign on with was created before I put the keys on the ledger. Thank you for the help
