Cardano Marketing

The best marketing right now is to have projects developed on Cardano as well as partnerships with institutions.

Let’s do it.

I’d like to get involved in the marketing efforts and think I could be helpful in many ways. Anyone to talk to?

@jonmoss can help. But if you are anti-authoritarian, you can always do your own thing and request support from the community

I think some good marketing for us to do right now would be too jump on reddit or Twitter and say we are from the cardano community and suport Bitcoin against tha market manipulation from Bitcoin.com and Roger Ver, I believe there is going to be a class action lawsuit against Bitcoin.com for antitrust trademark , market tampering … I would be more than happy to donate one of my cardono coins to this great cause as we at cardono believe in a level playing field for all…I reckon the Bitcoin guys would like and support us in return what do you reckon?:grinning:

How do you send a cardono coin to the class action law suit against Bitcoin.com for antitrust and trademark violations against Bitcoin. I say level playing field for all

I feel a potential idea would be viral marketing in major US cities.

With the crypto craze in full swing perhaps leaving top quality high gloss embossed flyers at major coffee shops and bars or train stations in specific cities coupled with getting local artists and high profile individuals to wear Cardano gear or give shout outs on instagram.

Another idea which would take a higher level of trust to ever work and airtight verification of identity systems so signups dont game the system would be a introductory amount of ADA being deposited into wallets for new users that take advantage of the promotions while signing up with single use codes provided on the flyer. This verification of identity would need to be worked out by people smarter than I am on that front. (It could be a quick scam if not handled correctly and I could see users social engineering the promotional flyers to scam the marketing fund out of its ADA)

What purpose would this serve? Deadelus is already an amazing wallet it looks beautiful it’s straight forward and its secure. We could incentivize individuals to download the wallet to retrieve their free ADA. It could help us get otherwise disinterested outsiders involved in crypto while making sure we are their first virgin experience into the economy.

I work in sales and as an artist and while alot of these ideas are just that I feel approaching ADA marketing from the perspective of non destructive street art could also help gain us exposure.

Cardano is already known as the Ethereum of Japan. Imagine if we target a less knowledgeable yet loyal demographic who sees this as more of an opportunity to be part of a community.

Imagine getting demographics of entire cities to attach their town to ADA such as their favorite sports team. Getting high profile well liked local celebrities on board could go a long way if coupled with successful viral marketing.

Imagine a poster with the Cardano logo that says ā€œDont Be Left Behindā€ or a flyer of Tony Montana with the Cardano logo as a lapel with bold statement making font that says ā€œWHO DO I TRUST? MEā€

Were hearing of companies rebranding iced tea and their market value going up 150% on CNN.

I know what I am proposing sounds like low hanging fruit but perhaps marketing ADA as a social statement as well as a loyalty based one by getting it tied to certain sub cultures in major US cities either music or art based could lead to positive exposure?

Any thoughts or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

I realize this is probably too soon, but since we are getting close to a MVP. I think the most effective marketing move would be to have at least one exchange where you can buy ADA with FIAT, the faster this is accomplished the better, we are too dependant on BTC and ETH. ADA would only be a viable alternative if paired to FIAT, if people lose faith in other crypto currency’s they will chose the one offering the solution.

ADA needs to be able to gain value while BTC is dropping in value, this will create unstoppable momentum. Right right now this is not a possibility. Any ideas how we can make this a reality?

I’m assuming this is something the cardano foundation is able to work on. And I would like to know if they have considered this, or what their stance is on the subject. All I know is that a lot of people are asking for it.

@jonmoss @maki.mukai @tom.kelly @cf_bruce I would love to hear your opinions on this subject. Happy holidays to all of you!

When states start looking to use blockchain for their country? I had no idea the vision was that ambitious! Fantastic!!

For me the approach to security was the best selling feature. I think they need to focus on that, and work to create big partnerships with institutions, states, countries, etc. I think every developed country in the world should/will eventually migrate to blockchain based voting systems, and Cardano seems to be the only platform that can provide that type of security. If they can position Cardano as the first crypto platform that anyone/everyone can trust, it will be hard for other platforms to compete with that.

A very impressive and productive thread.

There should be ā€œone more thingā€ I missed here: international translations of fundamental documents, youtube subtitles, …

Just look at the European ā€œmarketā€ of people you can('t) reach:

A limited edition comic book that explains the future with smart contracts etc…collectibles and super heroes do well (Marvel and DC!) especially considering Charles loves his Greek mythology

Hi guys, kind of newbie here… here’s my take on marketing:

  1. An Identity

I think Cardano is difficult to understand for people who don’t have any idea what crypto is. I think it would be very helpful if it could be able to summed up in one short sentence I think.

For example:
Bitcoin - "The One"
Ethereum - "The Better One"
Ripple - ā€œCrypto for Bank$ā€

I know currently Cardano is known as ā€œ3rd gen block chainā€, but that really doesn’t do it justice, since it’s really much more than that. However, I can’t really think of a great way to sum it up.

  1. Regular engagement with the community.

Charles has really stepped it up with doing interviews with YouTubers lately, this drives people to google ā€œCharles Hoskinsonā€ and point them to his great whiteboard video. I believe he’s going to be doing an interview with Boxmining soon too, which is great since he has a pretty large following and I find his videos to be very well done.

However, I think consistency is key.

Ideally, one YouTube video a week (or maybe every other week) from Charles like the impromptu one he did recently would be great. So like the whole community knows, on Xday at ā€œaround this timeā€ Charles will do a little YouTube live stream or something. Obviously, since Charles travels so much and is so busy he can’t always do it at the exact same time, but it would something for the community to look forward to.

Also, having a team (or volunteers) be able to transcribe the videos into different languages would also be very helpful.

  1. Slightly simplified videos/explanations in short videos

Example:

PoS versus PoW - why is it better? Why is Cardano’s version the best?

Honestly, you might be able to reach out to the community itself to create a few videos for you guys. Then you guys watch them and kind of give them the thumbs up or something so people know you agree.

  1. Fiat —> Cardano transfers

I agree with @Bullishdong, being able to skip a middle man would be extremely helpful, like being listed on Coinbase. However, I don’t see this happening anytime soon with how the exchanges are set up.

  1. Crypto Capybaras

Capybaras are the best, better than Kitties and Dogs!

  1. Official Cardano Shirts/Hoodies/etc

Just because I’d like one. :grinning:
