Christian and Hamish joined me on the podcast to talk about their proposal to determine Cardano’s carbon footprint. It’s all about the carbon accounting that makes up the number of trees needed to offset the Cardano blockchain.

Personally, I think this is great and important work to help ensure that we as a blockchain stay as eco friendly as possible.

Nice to see the work, but i don’t think offsetting should be used when its possible to switch energy input for running digotal infrastructure to renewable or none fossil sources (nuclear) .
Offsetting should really be saved for things like flying or cement production where there’s no easy alternative yet.
