It won’t update itself automatically, it will ask if you want to go ahead first (you might want to do it later instead). You will not need to uninstall.

I started Daedalus, and after sync…it just went right into the (old normal version)…it did not ask to update or anything…here are screen shots of the wallet…Am I missing something for the update?..I am running Windows 10

yes i get a bunch of error msg when it tries to install the exe file
What is the error message exactly when you try to launch the .exe file?

What is your browser? Are you on Internet Explorer? If yes, try download Daedalus with Chrome instead. Here are the solutions on the FAQ page:

Hi, just updated the wallet directly via wallet itself. But now it won’t open it. It stucks with “connecting to network” forever.
