This might be a silly question but I was unable to find a straight answer. My question is where does the 500 Ada deposit get stored at? Is it stored in the treasury?
Deposits are just recorded on the ledger: they aren’t sent to an address as an output. See Transaction types - #7 by bwbush for a diagram and a link to the documentation.
What 500 ADA deposit? are you by any chance talking about registering your wallet to vote?
Nope, it’s about registering the pool
I was worried for a minute
I think the basic question is, how do I see the 500 deposit after the node is up and running? all I see is that the 500 is sent, but where? any node explorer that can see it? the problem for me is that I work for a company that wants to track every transaction and as such must be visible. its a compliance thing.
Hi,
There are sent to a deposit address and u will receive back when u will retire the pool… I believe u can track on cardanoscan.io
Cardanoscan does not seem to be showing the deposits within a transaction, it just shows the input as being less of what was actually inputted.
Cardano Explorer does show the deposit when you look up the transaction.
500 ada is a full registration fee and you will receive it later when your pool retire.
Can you recover or retrieve the deposit when the pool is no longer available? Such as Deleted pool, where it was never retired? Seems odd that one can place the 500 to the pool, but the owner of the account that is delegating the pool deposit is unable to retrieve it.
if u have the pool files you must retire it and after this operation you will receive back 500 ADA as a reward
To retire the pool, you need the private cold key of the pool. After the retirement, the deposit is returned to the pool stake address. So, you need the private stake key. As long as you have those two, you can retrieve the deposit.
So, these two keys can be considered the owners of the 500 ADA after the deposit has been made.
